2024 Holiday Hours:
The museum is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day (Monday and Tuesday), Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

There may be additional closures due to severe weather. Check Explore & More’s social media channels and local news outlets for updates on delays and closings.

STEM Saturdays presented by National Grid

  Get those wheels turning this weekend with STEM based activities power the play across the museum the third Saturday of each month presented by National Grid. Come play your way through Science, Technology, Engineering & Math based activities that are so fun, kids don’t even know they’re learning!

Apple Cider and Homemade Popcorn

Learn to use a cider press to make and sample your very own cider creations. Participants will also make home made popcorn for a delightful fall snack!  This one-hour class will take place in our 4th floor Cooking Galley is intended for ages 8-12.

Caramel Apples

Participants will make two different delicious apple snacks; a caramel or candy apple, and a cereal treat apple!  This 45-minute class will be taking place in our 4th floor Cooking Galley and is intended for ages 8-12.

Classic monster movies might seem scary but once you learn about the special effects, they can become fun and even silly! Join us in our 3rd floor Tinkering Tank as we take a look into 1930’s-1950’s monster movies and discover how they were made. Grown Up Night Of Play

Grown Up Night of Play: Around the World in Holidays Grab your friends for a playful tour of countries and cultures as we celebrate year-end traditions from around the world! This special 21+ event includes access to hands-on activities throughout the museum, food stations, drink tastings, live music, and MORE!  Tickets are $35 until November 1st, then $45!
