summer camps

New for 2022!  Explore & More is pleased to offer an exciting variety of summer camps where kids will have so much fun, they won’t even know they’re learning!

Explore options below for our camps which cater to children from ages 4 to 12!

I’ve been meaning to write to let you know what a great time our two boys had at the cooking camp. They absolutely loved the camp and they were so proud of themselves! Being able to provide a real dinner for our family was a real confidence boost for them. I’m also impressed with the skills they learned (and retained)—recently, I was corrected on how to use a peeler (“always peel away from your body”). My youngest, who refuses to eat most things, ate every meal—because he had made it.”

You are encouraged to assess your own health and the health of those in your party as well as any personal risk factors prior to visiting Explore & More. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By visiting Explore & More, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Explore & More closely follows all COVID-19 health and safety regulations as set forth by local, state and federal guidelines.

  • Masks: While masks are not required, they are strongly encouraged. Masks should be worn, regardless of vaccination status, in the following circumstances:
    When they had close contact with someone with COVID-19 (this means when they were within six feet of someone with COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes in a 24 hour period) they must wear a mask for 10 days;
    If they are moderately-to-severely immunocompromised and have discussed the need to mask with their healthcare provider(s);
    If they feel more comfortable wearing a mask for personal reasons;
    If they are required to mask by the child care program or by their municipality (city/county);
    If required to mask by any relevant federal licensure or regulator (for example, for Head Start);
    If they completed a minimum 5-day isolation period because of a COVID-19 infection and have returned to program, masks must be worn on days 6-10.
  • To the extent that persons are expected or required to mask, masks may be removed when eating, drinking, singing, napping, going outside, or playing a wind instrument. When masks are removed for these purposes, maximize social distancing as much as possible (ideally six feet or more).

Isolation: Individuals and children who have close contact with someone with COVID-19 are required to isolate/quarantine, pursuant to the guidance issued by the Department of Health (DOH).  Isolation is for individuals who have been infected with COVID-19, even if they don’t have symptoms.  Isloation is also for people who are suspected of having COVID-19 because of the symptoms they exhibit.  You isolate in order to prevent spreading the virus to others. Please check the DOH’s website for more information on isolating.

Together to Kindergarten

We know summer is just starting, but it is never too early to start preparing for school! In September, many children will be “leaving the nest” and going off on their own for the first time. No, we are not talking about going to college. We’re talking about little ones going to Kindergarten! For many kids, this will be the first time they spend away from their parents for an extended period. At Together to Kindergarten, young campers are set up for success by providing fun and educational activities based on the following Kindergarten Readiness Skill-Builders: fine motor skills (cutting, writing, using manipulatives for small motor tasks), large motor skills (large group games, balancing, climbing), social/emotional skills (socializing, making new friends, taking turns, sharing, good manners), language skills (speaking in a whole group setting, asking for assistance), reading skills (rhyming, recognizing patterns in stories, print awareness), and math skills (counting, patterning, measuring). Campers will get used to “school” routines and separating from parents while playing and learning in the various Play Zones at Explore & More. Campers will need to provide a snack and a water bottle daily.
