2024 Holiday Hours:
The museum is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day (Monday and Tuesday), Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

There may be additional closures due to severe weather. Check Explore & More’s social media channels and local news outlets for updates on delays and closings.

Play & Learn: Springtime Playing Together with Friends

Join us for a playgroup style pre-K class for diverse little learners and their parents/ caregivers. This class will meet the needs of children who benefit from a multi-sensory, flexible learning approach, and adapted materials. Children will have the opportunity to play in the museum at a quieter, sensory friendly time. Themed child centered activities will be provided that focus on social-emotional, pre-academic, communication, and motor skills. Parents will have the opportunity to connect with each other in a supportive environment. We will also provide follow up activities for home and advocacy resources.

Play & Learn playgroup will be celebrating spring and practicing play skills together with friends! Children will enjoy guided museum play, an adaptive story time, I See Spring by Charles Ghigns, spring themed child centered activities and take-home resources for parents including a scripted story-How to be a Super Friend.

Age & Participation

This class is designed for ages 3 – 4 years old with autism/diverse learning needs.
Cost: $10 per child. Purchase includes admission to the museum after class for participating child and one adult/caregiver.
Please purchase admissions tickets for any other adult or child in your group if you are planning on staying at the museum after class.
