Once a month, our special Au-Some Evenings give children with autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorder, their friends and family an opportunity to play and learn together in an understanding and supportive environment. Families will have access to the museum space and play zones, including our cafe. Featured activities include a music center, therapy dogs, art projects and gross motor activities. Explore & More will also have a social narrative about the new museum and its play zones, quiet kits, as well as calming sensory friendly spaces in the museum.
Our next Au-Some Evening will be on Valentine’s Day, and we have so many fun things planned. We will be making sweetheart cinnamon rolls in the Cooking Galley and stained-glass Valentines in our Tinkering Tank. There will be sensory play and a visit from some of our friends, such as music therapist Sara Rogers, and Paws for Love therapy dogs! There’s also a special treat this month — FREE ice cream for each member of your family, compliments of Perry’s Ice Cream and Explore & More!
Please pre-register by going directly to our website and selecting tickets for each member in your family/ party. Please kindly submit the additional questionnaire you receive after registering so that we can gather information to continue providing these events FREE of charge!
