In addition to our wonderful exhibits, our studio spaces and other play areas throughout the museum allow children to engage in STEM activities, arts & crafts and other fun play experiences. Our Tinkering Tank and Art Studio are open 11am-3pm.

Cooking Galley
Presented by Wegmans
Fourth Floor
Join us daily as local chefs partner with Explore & More staff to facilitate cooking classes for children ages 5 and up. Classes will focus on nutrition, food identification and family friendly recipes that our visitors can replicate at home. Learn to make recipes using liquid measuring cups, scoops, scales, and table/tea spoons to practice the skills needed to help prepare meal with their family.

Experiment, investigate, problem solve, take apart, test and build in our very own makerspace. Guided by staff, you can learn to use real tools to fix broken objects or create something new. See daily open studio and paid class times.

Story Walk

Explore & More celebrates the power of child-led play and Alice, Ever After Books promotes wonder through stories. We are excited to collaborate and bring this Story Walk exhibit to Buffalo! Within the Building Buffalo exhibit, kids and immerse themselves in the world of Thomas The Tank Engine with multiple playsets and a variety of Thomas & Friends toys. Also, look up and catch our brand-new elevated train make the rounds throughout the day!


The Big Spring Ox
Donated by the Chinese Club of WNY
First Floor Stairwell
In 2023, the Chinese Club of WNY and Rainbow Bridge Culture Center collaborated to create a painting that was generously donated to the Explore & More. This collaboration represents a appreciation for partnership, friendship, and a shared concern for children between the organizations and the museum. The original piece was crafted by Guiqiang Chang from the Rainbow Bridge Culture Center, while a group of children, ranging from ages 6 to 15, contributed to the painting process.
