These classes are designed to help support the developmental needs of young children through play! We have enhanced safety measures throughout the museum including limited capacity to ensure everyone is staying safe. Space is filling up fast so reserve your seat today.

Toddler
Time

Toddler Time is a 1-hour program for our little ones ages 18 months up to three years, giving them and their caregiver the opportunity to play, learn and grow! The program includes museum exploration, circle time (including story time, counting practice, weather identification etc.), fine/gross motor development lessons and a take home art project. Each month there is a focused theme with changing weekly topics that fit within that theme. Some monthly themes include:
- Earth Day Fun!
- Do the Bunny Hop!
- Not-So-Spooky Halloween
- Jingle Bell Jam Literacy
- STEMtastic
Each 1-hour class is $20 and includes class + museum admission for 1 child and 1 guardian.
When: Once a month during the school year
Upcoming Classes:
Saturday, November 15 at 9am: Turkey Tots – Gobble Gobble! Bring your little turkey for some fun including storytime, painting and even the turkey pokey!
Saturday, December 13 at 9am: Jingle Bell Jam! – Join us for a toddler time filled with holiday cheer! Storytime, crafts and a jingle bell jam to celebrate the season!

Take learning to another level with monthly activities for preschool students (ages 3-5 years old) to participate in a facilitated 1-hour program targeted to develop skills essential for Kindergarten success. The program includes museum exploration, circle time (including story time, counting practice, weather identification, etc.), fine/gross motor development lessons and a make-and-take art project. Each month, there is a focused seasonal theme.
Each 1-hour class is $20 and includes class + museum admission for 1 child and 1 guardian.

Upcoming Classes:
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20 (9:30am-10:30am) – Farm Fun Class: We’ll start our day playing in Farm to Fork on the 4th Floor of the museum! There will be class-exclusive sensory play in our exhibit space, too.
We’ll pull out our puppets and instruments for some special farm-themed songs before transitioning to craft and circle time.
We’ll end class with an interactive farm-themed story. See you then! Yee-Haw!

Castle Construction Class

1-hour class: $20 – includes class + museum admission for 1 child and 1 guardian. Great for 2nd and 3rd Graders.
Upcoming Classes:
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22 (9am-10am)
Welcome to medieval times! This class will take learners back to the Middle Ages, and talk about all things castles.
Participants will construct their own castle model and have a chance to lay siege with catapults!

Storytime Class

Enjoy a 30-minute storytime and craft class hosted in the Art Studio! Each class is $6 and includes class admission for 1 child + 1 guardian. Great for preschoolers!

Play &
Learn

Join us for a free playgroup-style pre-K class for diverse little learners and their parents/caregivers. This 45-minute class will meet the needs of children who benefit from a multi-sensory, flexible learning approach, and adapted materials.
Children will have the opportunity to play in the museum at a quieter, sensory friendly time. Themed child-centered activities will be provided that focus on social-emotional, pre-academic, communication, and motor skills.
Parents will have the opportunity to connect with each other in a supportive environment. We will also provide follow up activities for home and advocacy resources.

Per our security protocol, guests are required to enter through our staff entrance located on the 1st Floor – bypassing the 2nd Floor lobby entrance. Walk underneath the 2nd Floor bridge near the canal and you will find this entryway.
