For many Western New Yorkers, December brings the holiday season, colder weather, and family gatherings. It is also a fantastic time to reflect on the previous year that was, and 2024 was an enormous year for us here at Explore & More.
Let’s go through some of our biggest events and moments of awesome! It is also a great opportunity to take time to look back on yours and your family’s year – to not only remember the best pieces of the year, but to look forward to 2025 optimistically.
January:
We started off the year with a bang and had a discounted admission day paired with our celebration of life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. thanks to support from BankOnBuffalo.
February:
Adults got to play in the museum during our Grown Up Night of Play: Total Eclipse of the Heart event, mixing Valentine’s Day with solar eclipse preparation.
March:
We celebrated the grand opening of our newest iteration of our Being Good Neighbors exhibit, putting a spotlight on the Broadway Market just before Easter.
April:
Explore & More welcomed (along with the rest of WNY), a solar eclipse, which our guests watched from our rooftop terrace.
May:
Celebrating became even more fun as we opened our brand new Celebration Room presented by M&T Bank. This brand-new space is used for vendors, birthday parties, and additional programming.

With summer vacation rolling along we continued our weekly summer camps with themes such as Superhero Camp, STEAM Camp, and Farm to Fork Camp.
We also debuted the Fairytale Farms Play & Learn Hive exhibit presented by the Mosey Family Foundation on the 4th Floor, where kids can learn the ins and outs of beekeeping!
September:
One of our audience’s favorite exhibits got a major remodel as the Scott Bieler Foundation Community Treehouse reopened for play.
October:
Our annual Spooktacular brought trick-or-treating inside the walls of Explore & More, as we welcomed costumed kiddos.
November:
We opened our doors to our cultural partners as our first annual Cultural Connections Day occurred. Organizations from across WNY shared all the good they do for the community.
December:
Explore & More braved the snow and welcomed some special guests from the North Pole!
Santa Claus will be back on Sunday, December 22 so get your tickets today!
These are just some of the amazing events and programs that we ran in 2024 here at Explore & More. We are looking forward to a tremendous 2025 and are excited to see you here in the New Year.
