Au-Some Evenings featured on WGRZ’s ‘Most Buffalo’

Once a month, Au-Some Evenings give children with autism and sensory processing needs, their friends and family an opportunity to play and learn together in an understanding and supportive environment at Explore & More for free. In addition to a fun night of play with access to the museum space and exhibits, we have special programming for families!

WGRZ’s “Most Buffalo” afternoon show stopped by Explore & More this week to showcase this wonderful program.

Au-Some Evenings was created in 2012 by Kathy Doody, Professor in Exceptional Education from SUNY Buffalo State and Jana Mertz, Certified Autism Specialist. 

Special education teacher candidates from Exceptional Education volunteer at our monthly Au-Some Evenings events, providing support to children and families while developing language skills, promoting social interactions, and facilitating learning through play.

Au-Some Evenings are generously supported by the Peter & Elizabeth Tower Foundation & HSBC.

Next month’s Au-Some Evening will take place on Friday, January 10 from 5pm-7pm at Explore & More (a special earlier time). Registration is required.
