At Explore & More we are thrilled to partner with the Girl Scouts & the Cub Scouts to offer several different badge options. From self guided backpack programs to full troupe facilitated programs there is so much fun to be had.  We offer different types of educational programs, too, so that your scout can gain knowledge and skills for wherever her interest may lay!

Back Pack Exploration

This program is great for the whole troop or an individual scout looking to earn extra badges on their own! We offer our Backpack Explorers program from both Cub Scouts and Girls Scouts. These programs allow scouts to fulfill badge requirements at their own pace any day of the week.

Registration is required at least two weeks prior to backpack rental date. Some date restrictions may apply. A full, non-refundable payment is due at the time of booking. Admission or valid membership also required and can be submitted at time of program. Actual scout badges are not included.

Senses

Explore the Museum with this one of a kind scavenger hunt to better understand how your 5 senses work!

  • Organization: Girl Scouts

Art Explosion

Through this Art Explosion Safari, Cub Scouts will see how the arts impact every aspect of our lives, including science, technology, engineering and math! Once completed, scouts will have earned their Art Explosion badge!

  • Grades: 4th – 5th
  • Cost: $8 per scout per backpack + museum admission or membership
  • Recommended Minimum Time Commitment: 2.5 Hours

WNY Buffalo Waterways

Scouts will explore our Moving Water Play Zone where they will learn about the history of the Erie Canal, Niagara Falls and Lake Erie. Participants will explore the importance of hydroelectric power through hands-on experimentation, visit the historic terminus of the Erie Canal, learn the Low Bridge Everybody Down song and hear a version written just for our Museum and so much more!

Studio Explorers

This program is a great option for a full troop! The Studio Explorers program guides your troop through the badge requirements in a facilitated classroom setting in one of our educational studios. We offer Studio Explorers programs for both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Motor Away

This Studio Explorers class looks at the motion of different types of vehicles including boats, cars and planes! Scouts will work to build different forms of transportation and discover how each type can help us in different ways!

Robotics

Scouts will learn how important robots are to many aspects of our life including construction and the medical field! Scouts will also have the opportunity to build their own robots in this hands-on Studio Explorers class.

Super Science

This Studio Explorers class explores several different aspects of science including static electricity and density. Scouts participating in this program will even get to make their own lava lamps!

Simple Machines

Simple Machines make our lives easier! During this Studio Explorers lesson, scouts will learn what simple machines are, how they help us do work and build their own simple machines all while fulfilling badge requirements.

Making Games

Playing games is a fun way to spend an afternoon but have you ever created your own game? During this Studio Explores Program Brownies will not only explore different types of games but they will also learn the steps to create their own! Going home with a new game to share with friends and family.

Balloon Car Design

Most cars today are powered by gasoline. However, engineers are constantly researching new ways to power vehicles. This Studio Explorers class will design and test their own balloon cars as an alternative energy source for transportation!

WNY Erie Canal Ecology

Through exploration in our Moving Water Play Zone and our facilitated Studio Explorers lesson, Juniors will explore WNY Erie Canal Ecology. Participants will learn about exotic and invasive species that were introduced to the canal as well as those native to our waterways.
