Let’s face it, in the winter months it is tough to get the kids outside and running as often as we would like. Many days it is just too cold to play outside. That is why Explore & More presents an annual program called Let’s Get Physical!
Explore & More first presented this program in 2009 and it has steadily grown since its inception. Let’s Get Physical runs annually on the first and third Saturdays of each month from November – March from 11:00am-2:00pm in the gym. The program incorporates numerous physical education techniques and movement-centric play tools including games, music, Imagination Playground as so much more!
We are excited to announce that JumpBunch will be back with us again for the 2017-2018 Let’s Get Physical season. JumpBunch will be here to play on the first Saturday of each month providing carefully structured, age-appropriate activities that are fun and beneficial! JumpBunch activities are designed to sharpen physical skills, make sports fun, and build healthy habits. Children will engage in a wide variety of activities to help get them moving.
On the third Saturday of each month, visitors will engage in gross motor play with our Imagination Playground, sports equipment, and flying turtles! Children of all ages will incorporate creativity into physical activity while building with Imagination Playground. By incorporating sporting equipment, we are also encouraging group and rules based play into gross motor skill development. Our visitors have so much fun burning energy they don’t even realize they are learning!
Don’t just take our word for it that Let’s Get Physical is a great way to spend the afternoon, listen to what our visitors have to say! 85% of families surveyed said that they were more active during the program than they would have been if they did not attend. 90% responded that they would continue to be more active in the coming weeks. And 99% of families surveyed said they would come back to another Let’s Get Physical!
