Welcome to Explore & More!

A world-class children’s museum that celebrates the power of child-led play, Explore & More – The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum features four floors of fun in downtown Buffalo. The 43,000 sq. ft. museum sits at the crossroads of replica canals and bridges that have become year-round community destinations at Canalside.

The museum reflects that sense of place with thoughtfully crafted exhibits to create a welcoming community center that invites all families to play, wonder, discover, learn, and grow together.

  • I took my 5 and 6 year old yesterday for the first time. They LOVED it!! The exhibits were interactive and engaging and kept them busy for hours! In terms of COVID - workers were CONSTANTLY sanitizing everything and there were rules for social distancing, which made us feel safe. We especially loved the crafting rooms - lots of unlimited supplies for creating and recreating. Overall, the place was gorgeous, the lay out was great, and the activities were a great mix of play and education. We will definitely be going back! The kids are curious to see what the rooftop set up is all about during the warmer weather months. 😁😁

  • This is a very well thought out children's museum! Every section allows creativity to abound. They also had a magician that was excellent and face painting. My granddaughter is autistic and they catered to her by having a staff member educated towards special needs children. Every aspect has been thought out. Bravo to the design team for this wonderful experience!

  • It's worth a go! I took 3 kids that were 6, 10 & 12 and they all loved it, there was activities for all of them. The first floor is food, and the other 3 floors are things for the kids to do. On the 4th floor there is a rooftop that had some activities for the kids. I went on a friday midday, and it was busy, but it was the cleanest child museum I've seen.

  • It's a great place to take the kids. So much fun thought provoking activities. Photo booth was a little extra, but the kids loved it.
